Legal Awareness Programme on “Drug De – Addiction & Legal Services to Victims of Drug Abuse” organised at Anantnag
Srinagar : The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag in collaboration with Govt. Degree College Boys Anantnag and Health and Medical Education Department Anantnag, organised a Legal Awareness Camp on “Drug De – Addiction & Legal Services to Victims of drug abuse” monday in the auditorium of the Govt. Degree College Boys Anantnag, with an objective to create awareness about the menace of Drug Addiction and De – Addiction.
On the occasion, Secretary DLSA Rafia Hassan stated that as against the common perception, recovery from path of drug abuse is possible provided there is a proper treatment and support. She spoke about the availability and effectiveness of the De–Addiction treatment and the role of Legal Service Authorities in facilitating the identification, treatment and rehabilitation of victims of drug abuse. She added that DLSA Anantnag would organise such programmes in future too at different venues of the district for the mass awareness.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal GDC Boys Anantnag said that menace of drug abuse should be eradicated from its roots and mass awareness must be created regarding its repercussions and remedies. He announced that the college would establish a Drug De – Addiction Club for disseminating awareness about the issue.
The specialists from Health Department, Drug De – Addiction Centre, Anantnag also spoke on the occasion, besides a huge gathering of students participated in the programme.
