Highway Ban: PDP leaders protest, seek revocation of order
Srinagar : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders on Sunday protested against the recently issued ban on the civilian traffic movement on Srinagar-Jammu highway, at Srinagar bypass near Dehli Public School ( DPS ) Srinagar.
The PDP leaders held a protest against the government order that restricts civilian traffic movement on national highway twice a week.
Reports s said that , PDP leaders including Khurshid Aalam, Ashraf Mir, Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra shouting anti-order slogans have gathered at Srinagar Bypass, along with some supporters carrying banners demanding an end to the order.
The trio leaders urged government to find an alternate mechanism which won’t affect the civilian movement.
The government on Wednesday passed an order that restricts civilian traffic movement of Srinagar-Jammu highway on Wednesday and Saturday, every week. The decision evoked sharp reactions from various political parties and business class.
