Srinagar : The Jammu-Srinagar national highway remained closed for vehicular traffic for the second consecutive day on Friday due to fresh landslides in Ramban District, officials said.
Officials said fresh landslides in Anokh area of Ramban district forced the closure of highway as some areas are vulnerable and bring traffic to a standstill.
The men and machinery of the Border Roads Organisation are working to clear the highway, he said.
Last winter, the highway often remained closed due to the accumulation of snow and avalanches besides landslides and shooting stones that come off in the wake of inclement weather.
