Srinagar : State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has issued notice to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretary Home and Director General of Police (DGP) and sought a compliance report regarding the detention and shifting of JKLF chief Yasin Malik to Delhi.

The SHRC chairperson, Rtd. Justice Bilal Nazki has issued the notice after a Petition has been filed by International Forum for Justice Human Rights JK chairman Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo.

A document reads that the authorities illegally allowed the police authorities to change the custody which is otherwise illegal in nature and handed over custody to NIA.

Untoo had pleaded before the SHRC that Malik is a political worker and was detained under Public Safety Act and put in Kotbalwal jail, but was later handed over to National Investigation Agency.
