Summoning students ahead of LS Polls a deplorable move : AJKSU
Srinagar : All Jammu and Kashmir Students Union (AJKSU) on Wednesday termed the police move of summoning the students from various parts of Kashmir a “deplorable” move.
The spokesman in a statement issued said that, elections in south Kashmir began on April 23, and the government forces have summoned dozens students who have been told to report at the local police stations.
“AJKSU got numerous such complaints especially from Shopain and Pulwama were students are being harassed ahead of polls,” the spokesman said.
Mudasir Dar, All Jammu and Kashmir Students Union (AJKSU) President said that, the arrests are pushing the student community to walls, it should be stopped immediately and those who were arrested should be released as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the student activist and AJKSU Patron, Syed Tajamul Imram has expressed serious concern over the issue and appealed the police authorities to release the arrested students, so that they can continue their studies.
