Srinagar Controversial program of Doordarshan Kus Bane Crorepati (Koun Banega Crorepati) Kashmiri telecast today from DD Kashmir raised many eyebrows regarding the content and quality.

The program hastily approved hours before ending financial year in favour of a Bengal based based producer Siddarth Basu with a whopping budget of Rs 52 crores.

“The program was bestowed to the producer without the requisite presentation and other essential formalities. And there was no proposals invited from other production houses, ” Said one Kashmiri producer who is one of the petitioners who sent legal notice to Prasar Bharati against the program.

A much hyped Kashmiri version of Koun Banega Crorepati proved to be nowhere near to original AMITABH Bachan program.

Producer of the program was accused of giving free entries as audience to outside state people and some locals were allowed to sit after getting tickets in front rows giving it the local look.

Prasar Bharati used DD Kashir channel budget meant fifty percent for Jammu Kashmir state based producers for KBC producer.

Giving it a kashmiri look,  producer booked a local anchor and some technicians to legitimise the huge Rs 2 crore per episode budget.

DD Kashir was launched by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee only to promote culture,  heritage and language of Kashmir and to give ‘platform to local producers and artists to excel’ in the field.
