Shopian: A militant was killed in a brief gunfight in Amshipora Village south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday morning.
A police official said that a gunfight broke out between the militants and the security forces in Amshipora-Ramnagri village during the wee hours of Friday.
“The security forces received a special information about the presence of militants in the area, and launched search operation,” he said .
While as, The militants hiding in the village opened fire on the security forces which led to an encounter,” the official said.
In the ensuing encounter, one militant was killed whose identity was being ascertained.
