New Delhi : PM Modi on Friday attended his first press conference in five years at BJP headquarters .

Speaking at the press conference on the last day of campaigning for LS election 2019, Modi exuded confidence that the BJP will return to power with a bigger mandate than 2014.

However, the hype around the press conference was short lived as PM Modi didn’t take questions from the media. It was BJP president Amit Shah who responded to media queries.

PM Modi, however, told media persons that he will not take any questions as the presser was being addressed by party president. “We are disciplined soldiers of the party,” PM Modi said.

Hours after Modi’s presser, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that journalists were prevented from entering the press conference of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah here.

“I was told that doors have been locked to prevent journalists who want to enter. I asked Randeep ji to send some journalist from our side. He said he cannot as doors are locked,” said Gandhi.

Referring to Modi’s reluctance , Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and wrote : “Congratulations Modi Ji. Showing up is half the battle. Next time Mr Shah may even allow you to answer a couple of questions.

Rahul furthet said, “Very good, very impressive. PM’s first press conference happens 4-5 days before election results.”
