A football tournament was organised by SHQ BSF Bandipora under CAP from 20-24 Dec’17 at Bandipora in association with Distt Administration.

This tournament was organised by BSF under civic action programme of Ministry of Home Affairs for welfare of border population.

The idea of this programmes is to promote goodwill and harmony between the civil population and the Security Force and also to promote growth in the remote Border areas.

In this tournament total 12 teams of various football club of Distt. Bandipora are participating. The final match was played between Hasmee Football Club & Iqra Football Club and won by Hashmee Football club by Three Goals.
Prizes distributed by Chief Guest Sh K S Gunjal,DIG,SHQ, Baramulla and Sh Arvinder Singh,DIG,SHQ, Bandipora.

Apart from this BSF is regularly organising other Civic Actoin programmes for Border Population, Like Medical Camps and Skill Development Programme for villagers along the border.

The tournament was played with a true sportsmen spirit and could be successfully conducted due to active support of Shri Sajad Hussain Ganai, DC Bandipora , Shri Zulfikar Azad, SSP Bandipora, Distt sports Association and Distt Football association alongwith other organisations and their officials.

The tournament was a big success and this will help improve Communication between local population, Security Forces and Distt Administration in future.

BSF will conduct more such programme in future under civic Action Programmes of MHA to promote goodwill and harmony amongst Local population.

The tournament concluded with distribution of prize money and trophies to the winner and the runner-up teams while certificates of participation were awarded to all the playing members. The whole event proved to be a reflection of not only the popular aspirations for peace and normalcy but also of the existing bonhomie and trust between the people and their BSF.
