Thousand attend Funeral of let Rebel in Wagoora of north Kashmir’s Baramulla

Amid restrictions thousands of people of Wagoora and its nearby areas attended the last rites of local militant who according to police was killed in a brief gunfight at arizal of Budgam District on Sunday.

Soon after the news of Shafat wani’s killing early Sunday morning, people started visiting towards his home. Shafat Wani was affiliated with Lashker-e-Toiba(LeT) since April of 2017.

The slain Shafat Hussain Wani laid to rest amid pro-freedom sloganeering at his native grave yard in Wagoora.

Police and CRPF personnel were deployed around Wagoora area to prevent any untoward incident.
Meanwhile,internet service was suspended in the the parts of Baramulla from early Sunday morning when the news of Shafat Wani’s killing goes viral.

Police said that acting on specific input regarding presence of militants budgam police 53 RR and CRPF , launched a cordon and search operation in khan mohalla , Arizal jurisdiction of Police station Beerwah. During search , militants tried to flee and came out of house and fired indiscriminately on Security forces.

In retaliation one unknown militant has been killed , whose identity and affiliation is being ascertained. Arms and ammunition have been recovered.

Meanwhile in the incident one lady Humaira daughter of Mohammed Maqbool Khan received injury in thigh while the hiding militants was trying to escape firing indiscriminately.
She has been promptly evacuated to hospital by the police for medical treatment and her condition is now reported to be stable.
