Clashes broke out between the government forces and civilian protesters during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Sajadabad Chattabal area of Srinagar on Sunday.

A top police official said that forces launched CASO in Sajadabad Chattabal after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Local sources said that youth of the area assembled and pelted government forces with stones, adding that government forces retaliated by firing tear gas smoke shells.
