Gurugram: Almost a week after a Muslim family was attacked by a mob in Dhumaspur village in Bhondsi, the situation in the vicinity remains grim and members of the family continue to live in fear.

The case was filed by Rajkumar, an accused in the case. The FIR has been filed under sections 323 and 324 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Bhondsi police station.

Himanshu Garg, South Gurugram’s district commissioner of police, confirmed that a case had been filed against the family.

Rajkumar in his complaint said, “I was going on a bike when a ball hit me. When I objected, I was beaten up by people who were playing there. Some people rescued me. I was admitted in the hospital and when I got to know that I have a case against me, I left the hospital.

Explaining his vulnerability Dilshad said, “I fail to understand what kind of system this is. The entire world has seen in a video that we were roughed up, my hands were broken, members of the family are still languishing in hospital recovering from their injuries, and now the police has filed a case against us. This is bizarre injustice.”

“This counter allegation comes after; a Muslim family lodged a complaint against few alleged miscreants, claiming that they were attacked on the occasion of Holi, in Bhondsi area on March 23.
