Highway Ban: High Court issues notice to JK Govt
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court Monday issued a notice to the state government on a plea seeking striking down of the ban on movement of civilian vehicles on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Sundays and Wednesdays.
The court issued the notice after a plea filed by IAS turned politician Shah Faesal.
“We are going to challenge this order in the Hon’ble High Court of J&K. This illogical order banning movement of civilians on National Highway for two days a week is totally against the spirit of Article 19 and Article 21 of the Constitution,” Shah Faesal had tweeted.
A division bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan issued a notice to the state government on Monday through Shah Faesal Counsel advocate Tassaduq Khwaja.
