Special event on ‘Women Mental Health’ held in Srinagar

Srinagar : A city premier gallery conducted an awareness event on ‘Women mental health’ at Jawahar Nagar Srinagar on Wednesday.
The main focus of the event was to create awareness about Mental wellness and the Remedies for the well-being of the same.
“It’s just a great opportunity for women to come together, learn about mental health as well as how to take care of themselves,” said one of the participant, who wished anonymity.

Hundreds of women respectively from Srinagar as well as other districts of the valley attended the event.
The event witnessed a huge rush of participants, who were given a proper counselling from the counsellors. The camp was held in coordination with ‘The Club,‘ a premium gallery situated in heart of the city Jawahar Nagar Srinagar, dealing with PRO beauty products, day to day essentials, Jewellery, Lingerie and much more.
The speakers gave a brief presentation on Women’s Mental Health, touching briefly on the signs to look for Mental Illness in someone, measures to take in case a near and dear one is suffering from mental illness.

A short role play was also performed by the counsellors to bring home the idea that mental health is as important as physical health and therefore the same kind of attention should be directed towards keeping ourselves mentally healthy.

The main speakers of the event were Zoe Priyanka Sones who is a Consultant, Motivational Speaker, an Actress and Mrs Roma Wani – Chairperson at the Inner Call and has also served Indian Red Cross Society and various other state departments under different capacities.
The host of the event were Afshan Burza and Iqra Nazir, The Founder’s of ‘The Club.’
