Sopore gunfight: Duo slain militants identified
Srinagar : Security forces today gunned down two LeT militants in Dangerpora village of Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district .
Sources informed GMK that, a joint team of government forces including Army’s 22 Rashtriya Rifles , Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a CASO in Dangerpora Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla following a tip-off about the presence of militants.
However, when the security forces were sealing the area, the militants hiding there opened fire, they said, adding that security forces retaliated ensuing in an encounter.
The slain militants have been identified as Nasser Ahmed Mir son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir resident of Brath and Asif Ahmed War son of Ghulam Mohammad War resident of Warpora Sopore. He said that 2 AK 47 and 6 Magazines were recovered from their procession.
According to official sources Naseer Ahmed Mir was active since 17/11/2017 while Asif was missing from his home since 2/02/2019
The authorities have suspended mobile internet services in sopore to maintain law and sitution.
