VC KVIB for entrepreneurial dev, reaching out to youth

Srinagar : Vice Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Dr Hina Shafi Bhat on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the performance of the Board wherein she stressed for promotion of entrepreneurial activities in the state.

The meeting was informed that the Board has established over 3628 micro industrial units across the state under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP).

Appreciating the work of Board, the VC underscored the need for reaching to the remote and far-flung areas of the State. She impressed upon the officers to organize awareness camps to extend financial support to youth for their sustainable living.

On the occasion, Vice-chairperson laid thrust on the promotion of bee-keeping activities in the state.

She also exhorted upon all the district officers to further improve their performance, so that the welfare schemes may reach to larger sections of the society.
