Flights disrupted as cow enters Ahmedabad airport

International flight operations were disrupted at Ahmedabad airport after a cow entered the runway on Thursday. At least two flights could not land at Ahmedabad airport as the cow was wandering on the runway. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.

An international flight from Gulf anda Cargo plane were supposed to land at Ahmedabad airport. However, due to the presence of cow on the runway, the two planes landed in Mumbai. “A cow had entered through cargo side. But was controlled soon,” Airports Authority Of India chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra was quotedas saying by Times of India.

“We have ordered an inquiry and sought a report on it,” Ahmedabad airport director told news agency ANI. Incidents of animal incursions at airports are rising in the country. Ahmedabad is particularly notorious for the high incidence of bird hits.
