PDP leader visits Sehrai, condoles demise of his son

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party leader and former JK Cements Ltd Chairman, Er Nazir Ahamd Yatoo on Monday visited the family of a slain militant (Junaid Sehrai) in Srinagar.

Sources said that PDP leader visited Ashraf Sehari’s home in Baghat Srinagar and consoled the demise of Sehrai’s son, who was killed in a gunfight earlier on Tuesday.

Sources informed Good Morning Kashmir that, PDP leader, Er Nazir Ahmad Yatoo also expressed solidarity with Sehrai’s family.

Er Nazir Yatoo when contacted by this reporter, and asked whether he visited the Sehrai’s family, he refused to comment and said he don’t want to comment on this.

Meanwhile, Sehrai and another Hizbul militant, Tariq Sheikh, were killed in a 12-hour gun-battle with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at the Nawakdal area in Srinagar on Tuesday ( May 19).

Nearly a dozen houses were gutted in the operation on Tuesday. Several other houses and vehicles parked in the narrow alleys of the locality were also damaged in the encounter.

Sehrai joined the Hizbul Mujahideen in 2018, days after his father took over the reins of the prominent separatist group TeH. Sehrai had completed masters in Business Administration from Kashmir university and was working in a private firm in Srinagar before he took up arms. Originally from the frontier town of Kupwara, Sehrai had been staying at Srinagar’s Baghat area for the past two decades.
